The Emergency Child Care Bridge Program

A time-limited program designed to increase the number of foster children successfully placed in home-based family care settings, increase capacity of child care programs to meet the needs of foster children in their care, and maximize funding to support the child care needs of eligible families.

Emergency Child Care Bridge Program GOALS

Child Care Navigator

  • Supports Resource Family
  • Identify and enroll in child care (parental choice)
  • Assist with any enrollment documentation
  • Develops relationship with family and provider

Child Care Voucher/Payment

  • Foster children 0-12 needing emergency placement
  • Severely disabled foster children 0-21
  • 6 month eligibility for a max of 12 months with approved extension

TIC Training & Coaching

  • Free on-site TIC training and coaching for Directors, Teachers and Assistants
  • Group Trainings
  • Monthly check-ins
Funded by the California Department of Social Services Child Care and Development Division and through local grants.
